With a canvas on an easel I can always take a step back and just stare at a painting for a while. The film ends as Celie is reunited with her sister and her children for the first time in decades, with Mister looking on from a distance. His mother, he reveals in intertwined interviews and memories through The Color of Water, is always more than she has seemed—more than a Polish immigrant, more than an Orthodox Jew, more than a converted Christian, more than the only white girl in a black neighborhood, more than a survivor of domestic abuse, more than a widower, more even than a mother. It all depends on how you want to breakup the space. I find I have difficulty keeping my distance and seeing everything in the correct proportions when working so close to a page. I didn't love this book at first, but as I get more distance from it, the more it grows one me. The color of calm skies is the color that people associate with serenity and tranquility. It gives off the feeling of distance and perspective. The surrounding hills were filled with a radiant magenta color constantly morphing into different hues of red then orange. The color blue can give the person looking at it great reassurance. The quote "The soul becomes dyed with the color of it's thoughts" by Marcus Aurelius has been sitting in my little black book for quite some time now. After that, I learned to ignore the “improved communication” and had a somewhat pleasant, although unremarkable run in the Distance U's. So basically as you are running you will come to 4 different color stations along the wayyellow, orange, blue and pink. It might be that the texture you see in each of these areas changes with the distance implied. That scarf is just beautiful, it looks like a peacock feather pattern from a distance and the color is just stunning on you. But it could also be color or painting light effects as they rest on different forms. Today I was looking for something to go with my new art journal page and I came across it again.
